Bhavana – Chapter 9

          SLAP! There was an echo in the parking lot. That idiot slapped me and I was on the ground, it was a tight slap. Before I could get up to fight with him, I heard there were two slap’s more, but it was Jitiksha who slapped him and within seconds Bhavana ran with the speed of light and slapped him too. Now we three were standing against him, if I would be at his place, I would have left but some are born shameless. I glanced at both the girls, one on my left and other was on my right, I felt I was in some movie scene, standing next to the super girl and wonder women and all fighting against evil. My mother taught me, “A girl should never be beaten, not even with the flower.” It seems like he was manner less as well, he ran towards Bhavana and raised his hand to beat her. OK listen, disrespecting any girl is bad but disrespecting my girl in front of me, my mind said, “Man, you’re dead now!” My outrage was on cloud 9 before he could touch Bhavana, I smacked three punches on his face but somehow he blocked my fourth one and I got a marvelous punch on my cheek. I was stunned. I realized whenever I get hit both the girls enter the fight. Then Jitiksha took a brick and smashed it on his head. I didn’t thought this scene will get so worse, his face was covered in blood, and he took his bike and drove off. We all saw each other, it was a bad situation for us and there was an awkward silence. Bhavana held my face with both hands, “Are you ok?” I nodded.

          “I am sorry, I just come to create trouble in your life, firstly I left you without informing and now this, sorry”, Jitiksha sobbed. “No, it’s ok, self-respect and family both the things have to be prioritized in life”, I replied. After this very tense situation, Bhavana suggested going to ice-cream parlour to get cooled. I knew Jitiksha likes chocolates, ice cream and of course cold coffee. The shop’s name was minus thirty degree, irrespective of the name the place was hot like hell, their AC’s were not working and everyone’s ice cream was melting with a great speed. We took our places and again there was an awkward silence. Suddenly, Jitiksha laughed thinking about whatever just happened, we all laughed and Bhavana went to the counter to get ice cream.

          “So Raghav, how long you guys are dating each other?” she asked. I replied, “No, no we are friends”. She raised her voice, “Stop lying, I could see the spark in both of you, you might have not seen this, but even she felt the pain when you got punched on the face. Her love is clearly visible.” I was confused, “Why can’t I see this?” She explained, “All boys are dumb to understand the girl’s feelings, every girl wants a boy to understand them, girl wants their guy to take them in arms whenever you meet them, girls want to get the best compliment from their partner whenever they wear new outfits, girls hold arms of guy to indicate that he is mine, girls get hurt when their loved ones lie to them, we girls expect a lot of things from you guy’s, we just want you to understand everything, and if you are successful in understanding  her you directly become the best person in the world for her ”, she explained me and winked. I never knew, girls expect so many things from us without even giving any intuition. We all ate ice cream and Jitiksha said, “If I would have married him, it would give a huge success to our business but now it’s gone. I smashed his head”, she laughed. We walked towards the bus stop, Bhavana held my arm I started believing whatever Jitiksha told me about girl’s expectation. Jitiksha told me, “Sorry Raghav for whatever happened between us, I believe you’ll understand that my family is more important than all the other things, good luck for your life, you’re an amazing boy. You already have a best girl with you”. She took the bus and I kept looking her till her bus went out of my sight. Bhavana started ignition of her bike and then she dropped me at my place. I felt some peace in my heart, all my question’s for Jitiksha were answered. I felt good, now I knew what happened with her and more importantly why she left me? I sat on sofa, thought about all the things Jitiksha told me about girl’s expectations. When she was not there, Bhavana was there with me all the time. I thought about her, how she took care of me, how she shared every happiness of her and celebrated  it with those small pastries, how she fought with me for every wrong things I did, how she explained me whatever wrong things I did. She is the one for me. Why don’t girls take the first move? Why every time it has to be a boy to propose a girl? We will debate over this thing, sometime else, now it’s the time for me to propose her. What if she denies? No, she won’t, she do love me too. What if not? Bhavana is perfect; for me the definition of perfect in love is all about knowing all the flaws of her yet accepting her, if one can accept the flaws, she becomes perfect for him. I took my phone, I messaged her, “Bhavana I love you”, with a heart symbol. Within seconds I had a reply of her, the message reads, “Your proposal is rejected, get lost.”
